Shinjukutales - City Hunter Fan Fiction

I admit to first creating this site solely for the purpose of increasing the amount of my ego ^^ — and also to post one fanfic, you (still!) cannot find anywhere in English (due to censorship >_<). So here you have it! I also decided to put up the translations of some of them (mostly everyone). The early ones I translated myself in Italian, but due to lack of time (and broadness of the vocabulary), I passed on the torch, and I thank each and everyone who collaborated with the translations — and you get your due in each chapter.

I always like feedback and reviews, it helps me to know if you are enjoying a particular story, so if you would like to review my fiction then please feel free to use the forms at the bottom of each and every chapter.

Where have all the fanfics gone?

You've probably noticed a strange absence of two of my eldest (and most precious) fanfictions - La dea della caccia (Goddess of the Hunt in English) and What if.... Well, I had to take them off the web, because I turned them both into original work (books) with some minor changes to the plot and major changes to the setting and names.
That's how life rolls. And no, they're not coming back, sorry.

Fanfiction update: 25 May 2008
Sorry for the dreadful delay in posting, but between catching up with three weeks of work, business law classes, and life in general, my daily time has been overbooked recently. But I'm back, I'm alive and well... and I don't have any pics ready yet (maybe I'll finally download them from the memory stic today, hopefully).
Anyway, let's get down to business, shall we. I won't be giving you a quick summary of what has happened so far, because I'm too much of a slacker. If you want to catch up, you'll just have to read the story from the beginning.
In chapter fifteen of Life After Love after her visit with Captain Kaibara, Kaori decides on another dancing lesson.

Mi scuso per il tremendo ritardo. L'ultima parola per il capitolo è sempre mia, e se non mi smuovo, voi non potete leggere le traduzioni. Quindi, chiedo umilmente scusa ai lettori e specilamente alle traduttrici.
Comunque, oggi vi presento ben due capitoli da leggere. Spero vi piaceranno. Nel tredicesimo capitolo di La vita dopo l'amore il visitatore misterioso altri non è che il suo ex fidanzato. Per peggiorare ancora le cose adesso lui non è più il solo ad aver dormito con un paziente... E lui lo sa, mentre nel quattordicesimo capitolo grazie ai ripensamenti di Kaori, questa potrebbe essere la loro ultima volta insieme, quindi Ryo vuole assicurarsi che lei non lo dimentichi tanto facilmente... o mai.

Fanfiction update: 6 April 2008
Since I left you without an update for far too long, I decided to upload two (!) chapters of Life After Love this Sunday. ;)
In chapter fourteen seeing her reservations, this might be their last time together, so Ryo wants to make sure she doesn't forget him that quickly... or at all. While in chapter fifteen Kaori is ridden by guilt of what she's done, of how she's behaved... And while Ryo makes a short visit to his partner at the police station, Kaori makes an important phone call.
Just to be sure, I'm also giving you a headsup on my yearly vacation. I'll be gone from April 21st to May 12th. I sure hope you can survive. ;P

In chapter thirteen of Life After Love the mysterious visitor is none other than her ex fiancé. To make matters even worse, now he isn't the only one who has slept with a patient... And he knows it.

Dopo un po' ritorna anche questa traduzione. Nel decimo capitolo di Segreto di vita Kaori teme che il momento in cui dovrà scegliere tra i due uomini nella sua vita si sta avvicinando. E sa benissimo chi scegliere, però sa anche che non lo può fare. La sua gita a Sapporo è un modo perfetto per dimenticare la sua nonesistente vita amorosa, e trova presto la donna che vuole aiutare, ma la showgirl non vuole avere niente a che fare con lei.

This chapter's been long time a-coming, but here it is and so am I. It's been a busy couple of weeks for me, but hopefully I'm in the clear, so we can get back to our weekly updates.
In chapter eight of Life After Love the guy her friend and her husband have been trying to hook her up with is none other than her new patient. And Ryo isn't at all averse to giving his therapist a free dancing lesson.

Nel nono capitolo di Segreto di vita estraendo informazioni a suon di botte dall' uomo misterioso che l'ha chiamata, Kaori riesce a sapere dove si trova la donna maltratta, ma è possibile che ci siano altri sulle sue tracce. Non ha il tempo di pensarci troppo a lungo siccome scopre qualcosa di più sul collegamento tra Mick e Rosemary.

Okay, this (and two more) chapter was created on a whim. I don't know if they have this time of scene in Japan, but I let it roll. Because I'm the author and I like it.
In chapter seven of Life After Love flustered with her patient's revelation, Kaori decides a night out is in order to make her forget her woes. Her friend quickly turns her into a hottie and together they hit the dance scene.

Heya, everyone. Hope you spent one hell of a New Year's Eve, you party animals, and I wish the first few days of the new year didn't bring along too many disappointments, like a pound or two too much for example. ^^ And to celebrate this new year 2008 I'm back with another fanfic chapter after this long absense filled with translations.
In the sixth chapter of Life After Love Ryo tries his best to make his shrink see that he has a thing for her, but she stubbornly refuses to listen to reason. Frustrated with himself and her, he ends up bolting once again.

Spero vi siete divertiti da matti per Capodanno e che i primi giorni del nuovo anno non vi abbiano portato troppe delusioni (un paio di chiletti in più per esempio ^^).
Comunque, per iniziare al meglio questo nuovo anno 2008, Marzia ha tradotto un nuovo capitolo di Segreto di vita. Nell'ottavo capitolo l'appuntamento con Sasha è un successo, ma Kaori non può dire lo stesso per l'investigazione sulla sparizione di Rosemary Moon. C'è anche Ryo e i suoi sentimenti per lui che le provocano un po' d'angustia e un possibile nuovo caso all'orizonte.
